Q. What is Soccer Matchmaker anyway?
A. Soccer Matchmaker is a site that allows soccer players to find teams and teams to find players.
It also takes the hassle out of running a team by providing team captains with a set of team management tools.
Q. Is this site really free? What's the catch?
A. Soccer Matchmaker is completely free for everyone. There are no plans to introduce any
kinds of use fees for the site at any
point in the future. That would negate the coolness factor.
Q. Who runs Soccer Matchmaker?
A. Soccer Matchmaker was designed and developed by me, Peter Thomas. I was in between
teams at the time and started looking for a site like this. I couldn't find one, so I built it.
Q. I think this site is cool and I want to help out. How can I do this?
A. The only way Soccer Matchmaker will succeed is if there are lots of teams and players. So we
have to get the word out. To start you can use the Tell a Friend feature, and if you
want to help out even more, contact me and I'll send you some marketing materials.
Q. How does Soccer Matchmaker match players and teams?
A. In addition to allowing players to contact teams and vice versa, Soccer Matchmaker also runs a
matching process once a week for players that have enabled this feature. Based on your player profile the program will
select any teams that signed up that week, review each team profile, and compute a score that indicates the probability
of a good match. Some of the attributes considered for this process are the State, Gender, League Type, and Skill Rating
of each. If there is a good match Soccer Matchmaker will send a summary e-mail to the player displaying the profile for
each of these teams.
